    "The name on the door does the work" was what Attorney Jeff Gold said to me on our first phone call. He more than lived up to the claim. Mr. Gold explained to me that the best way to work with the courts is to show them that you are not just another number on a piece of paper. You will be requested to go to at least 40 AA meetings, get letters of recommendation from colleagues and employers, and possibly see a clinical psychologist. Trust me when I say that, IT IS WORTH IT. Not only will this paint a picture for the prosecutor, it will also educate you. The AA meetings are the best way to see how alcohol can affect lives, and the letters force you to admit your (alleged) offenses to those around you. Do the work yourself, and Gold & Witham will do their part. Nothing is guaranteed, of course, but I am very glad to have hired them.

    “Worth their weight in GOLD!”

    I chose Gold & Witham because of their experience (look up their career history- they know this field from both sides). They have intimate knowledge of the courts in Los Angeles and surrounding counties (Van Nuys Superior Courthouse in my case) and the various prosecutors and judges. As said in prior reviews, you will have to WORK for a reduced sentence, but your effort, with their legal guidance is worth it. Their system has earned them the respect of the courts, and that goes a long way. In addition to these efforts, they will undoubtedly positively affect your emotional and psychological wellbeing. You will walk away a better person, and IMHO, far less likely to ever find yourself in this situation again.

Check Fights for you the entire way? Check Jeff Gold couldn't magically make my DUI go away, but unlike many of the other thousand or so attorneys in LA, he never claimed to. Instead he did everything humanly possible to not only lessen the blow of this stupid situation I put myself in, but also to ensure it would never happen again. He seemed genuinely more interested in never getting my business again (because I'd never need it) than running up my bill. Trust me, you want him on your side.

    “Extraordinarily competent defense.”

    Jeff Gold is competent, communicates in layman's terms, is honest and tells it like it is. He made it very clear what actions I had to take the lead on and assure they were accomplished before my court date. I did. That and Mr. Gold's knowledge in the ways of the court and his ability to negotiate respectfully with the court, three of four counts I was being charged with were dismissed. No small accomplishment. If there was a down side, and there truly was not, it would be my out of pocket cost for everything due directly to my bad decisions that got me where I was in the first place. I am a senior and a widow living on a fixed income, and have had zero life experience in the world of DUI and the legal system. I was strongly advised by both family and good friends to secure competent DUI counsel. I purposefully wanted one who was tough but fair minded. I did my own research and found Jeff Gold to be that attorney. I believe firmly one gets what one pays for, and I made an excellent choice in the selection of the Gold & Witham team.
